What is seated acupressure?
Seated acupressure is also referred to as on site and chair massage. The techniques used are developed from ancient Japanese massage arts of Anma and Shiatsu. It is a gentle, non invasive treatment which is suitable for most people.
During a treatment the practitioner applies pressure with their fingers, thumbs, palms, arms and elbows on the many acupressure points along the 12 major meridians accessible on the back, arms, hands, neck and head.
The techniques used in a seated acupressure routine help to stimulate and balance the energy flow throughout the body's circulatory, muscular, nervous, lymphatic and immune systems.
Seated acupressure is carried out in an ergonomically designed chair that is adjusted to fit each client. This allows for easy access to the acupressure points along the back, neck, arms, hands, neck and head. No oils are used, and the client is fully clothed throughout the treatment.
Seated acupressure is one of the fastest growing complementary therapies and can be used successfully in a range of environments. A seated acupressure treatment can be as short as 10 minutes or up to an hour. This flexibility in treatment time makes it ideal for mobile group bookings too. Seated acupressure is often the treatment of choice for corporations and businesses and is a valuable addition to employee well being.
Why choose seated acupressure (on site chair massage) for you and your staff team?
"Every time you have a massage, be it a brief, or a longer session, your oxytocin is boosted, your stress levels go down – I have not yet met anybody who did not feel better afterwards."
Massage Magazine, June 2015
"Work related stress has climbed to its highest rate in 16 years, according the latest batch of statistics published by the HSE. This makes stress the most common form of work related illness for the first time."
Seated acupressure is a non-invasive treatment, suitable for most people. All treatments are fully clothed, and no creams and oils are used. Sessions can last between 10-30 minutes per client depending on your preferences and size of staff team. After a treatment people report feeling calm and re-energised.
